Mathematics. Without explaining what it is,
everyone will know. Without having to make small talk I will give a view of
Mathematics and why Mathematics is an important science that must be learned by
everyone.
The word Mathematics comes from Latin language "mathemata" which means "something
learned". Whereas mathematics in Dutch is called
"wiskunde>" which means "exact science".
Mathematics emphasizes activities in the world of ratios (reasoning), not emphasizing
the results of experiments or the results of mathematical observations formed
because of human thoughts, which are related to ideas, processes, and reasoning
(Russeffendi ET, 1980: 148).
Mathematics is formed from human experience in his world
empirically. Then the experience is processed in the world of ratios, processed
in analysis with reasoning in cognitive structures so that mathematical
concepts are formed so that the mathematical concepts that are formed are
easily understood by others and can be manipulated appropriately, then the
mathematical language or notation is used mathematics that is of global value
(universal). The mathematical concept is obtained because the process of
thinking, because of that logic is the basis of the formation of mathematics.
Thus, Mathematics provides quite a lot of benefits for
life, especially for mathematicians themselves. Here are the benefits that can
be obtained based on my discussion with Mathematicians FMIPA Unsyiah:
1. Can train to think logically, critically, creatively,
and organized
2. Can help draw conclusions correctly and correctly
3. Can practice a careful, careful and careful attitude
4. Can practice patience
5. Can support other fields of science
6. Can help solve problems in everyday life
The topics of science in mathematics are very numerous
and difficult to group, because each topic complements each other. But I try to
give an overview of the grouping of fields in mathematics that are studied in
general.

1. Pure Mathematics
- Algebra
- Calculus and analysis
- Geometry and topology
- Combinatorics
- Logic
- Number theory
2. Applied Mathematics
- Dynamic systems and differential equations
- Mathematical Physics
- computing
- Information theory and signal processing
- Probability and statistics
- Game theory
- Operations research
We don't know then we don't love, if you are really
interested in mathematics you must try to recognize him, guaranteed you will
definitely be more curious about mathematics that is very interesting where the
knowledge is interconnected with each other and a lot of benefits. But mr. Zahnur, M. Info. Tech said that, is good at programming by
practice, is good at math by doing (practice solving problems). It is not a
theory that will make you proficient in mathematics, but how much you practice
solving problems that exist in mathematics.

Matematika. Tanpa dijelaskan apa itu, semua orang pasti akan
tahu. Tanpa harus berbasa-basi saya akan memberikan pandangan terhadap
Matematika dan mengapa Matematika merupakan ilmu penting yang harus dipelajari
oleh diri saya secara pribadi.
Matematika terbentuk dari pengalaman manusia dalam
dunianya secara empiris. Kemudian pengalaman itu diproses di dalam dunia rasio,
diolah secara analisis dengan penalaran di dalam struktur kognitif sehingga
sampai terbentuk konsep-konsep matematika supaya konsep-konsep matematika yang
terbentuk itu mudah dipahami oleh orang lain dan dapat dimanipulasi secara
tepat, maka digunakan bahasa matematika atau notasi matematika yang bernilai
global (universal). Konsep matematika didapat karena proses
berpikir, karena itu logika adalah dasar terbentuknya matematika.
Dengan demikian, Matematika memberikan cukup banyak
manfaat bagi kehidupan khususnya bagi saya sendiri. Berikut adalah
manfaat yang dapat saya peroleh :
1. Dapat melatih saya berfikir secara logis, kritis, kreatif,
dan terorganisir
2. Dapat mebantu saya menarik kesimpulan secara tepat dan
benar
3. Dapat melatih saya sikap yang teliti, cermat dan
kehati-hatian
4. Dapat melatih saya kesabaran
5. Dapat menunjang saya dalam bidang ilmu lainnya
6. Dapat membantu memecahkan persoalan dalam kehidupan
sehari-hari saya
Topik-topik ilmu di dalam matematika sangat banyak dan
sulit dikelompokkan, disebabkan karena setiap topik saling melengkapi antara
satu sama lain. Namun saya mencoba memberi gambaran atas pengelompokan bidang
di dalam matematika yang dipelajari secara umum.

- Aljabar
- Kalkulus dan analisis
- Geometri dan topologi
- Kombinatorik
- Logika
- Teori Bilangan
2. Matematika Terapan
- Sistem dinamik dan persamaan differensial
- Fisika Matematika
- Komputasi
- Teori informasi dan pengolahan sinyal
- Peluang dan statistik
- Teori game
- Riset opreasi
Tak kenal maka tak sayang, jika Anda memang tertarik pada Matematika cobalah kenali dia, dijamin Anda pasti akan makin penasaran tentang
matematika yang sangat menarik dimana ilmunya saling terhubung satu sama lain
serta banyak sekali manfaatnya. Namun seperti kata Bapak Dr. Zahnur,
M. Info. Tech, pandai pemrograman by practice (latihan membuat program), pandai matematika by doing (latihan menyelesaikan soal). Bukanlah teori yang akan membuat Anda
mahir matematika, tapi banyaknya Anda berlatih memecahkan masalah yang ada di
dalam ilmu matematika.
